- Huron River Watershed Council (HRWC): https://www.hrwc.org
- Founded in 1965, “HRWC is a nonprofit coalition of residents, businesses, and local governments” and “southeast Michigan’s oldest environmental organization dedicated to river protection”.
- Sierra Club, Michigan Chapter: https://www.sierraclub.org/michigan
- The Michigan Chapter of Sierra Club has worked for securing “clean water and air, wild biodiversity, and a safe energy future” since 1967 and is active statewide with 150,000 members and supporters in Michigan.
- League of Conservation Voters: https://www.lcv.org
- The League of Conservation Voters “drives environmental progress through action” by “helping people use their power in all three political realms: influencing policy, holding leaders accountable, and winning elections.”
- Citizens Climate Lobby: https://citizensclimatelobby.org
- Citizens Climate Lobby has been active in supporting local-level climate initiatives including the Ann Arbor City Council’s “Resolution to Support Carbon Fee and Dividend Plan” passed on August 17, 2017.
- BlueGreen Alliance: https://www.bluegreenalliance.org/work-state/michigan/
- BlueGreen Alliance unites the “largest labor unions [in the U.S. and the] most influential [U.S.] environmental organizations to solve today’s environmental challenges in ways that create and maintain quality jobs and build a stronger, fairer economy”. It is supported by Michigan chapters of national environmental organizations and Michigan locals of national labor unions.
