Readings for Reflection: November 2009
from the Committee on Ministry and Counsel

Every year the Ministry & Nurture Committee of Lake Erie Yearly Meeting presents a query for monthly meetings to consider. This year the topic is our experiences of wonder and awe, Light and the Divine. The Committee also provides a set of related quotations. Friends have the opportunity for worship sharing on the query at 7:00pm on Friday, December 4, in the Fellowship Room. Come at 6:00 to share fellowship and supper (pizza provided, salads and desserts potluck). Watch for a sign-up sheet on the lobby table.

2009 Lake Erie Yearly Meeting Query

What experiences have you had of wonder and awe?
What experiences have you had of the Light or the Divine?

What helps you open yourself to these experiences and what gets in the way?
What practices do you have to deepen these experiences?

How do we support each other in this awareness?
How do we support our children in their spiritual journeys?

For quotations related to the theme of this query, visit http://leym.quaker.org/News/leymnews and see “2009 Queries Posted for Consideration.”
